“The Pixi Plus is indeed a “pixie” of a phone, very slim and very light – it definitely won’t weigh down your pocket or your bag.
The overall design is pretty minimal; the only things you’ll really notice when you look at the phone are the display and keyboard. The power/wake button is on the top left corner of the device, while the ringer/silent switch, volume buttons, and covered charging port are on the right side.
The back of the phone includes the Palm logo, camera, and one small speaker opening on each side. The device is plastic with a soft finish that is easy to grip and just textured enough to solve the smudgy fingerprint problem that plagues many other phones.
Display
The display is 2.6-inches and runs at 320 x 400 resolution. It’s very bright, even outside. Text, photos, and videos all look nice, with no ghosting or other quality issues to mar the overall experience.
Of course the screen is a bit smaller than what you might see on other, larger devices, but it does seem to be of good quality and with no squinting needed.” Read more here:

Major Firmware Update Nokia For E55 Now Available

“Just want to give everyone a quick heads up that latest firmware update (v31.xxx to v33.xxx) for Nokia’s most compact messaging device, the Nokia E55 is now available for most of the generic product codes as FOTA update ‘Firmware Over The Air’ (4MB) and is expected to be available through the Nokia Software Updater as well. Unfortunately detailed change log is not available at the moment but as you would imagine, the firmware update is always recommended because it usually improves the performance and reliability! Nokia E55 has the UDP but it is anyway highly suggestible to back up your phone memory before performing a firmware update just as precaution measure in case something goes wrong..” More here:

As you might have noticed, yesterday we updated the Ovi MapsBeta page with a newer version. There are no major changes but weve tweaked it here and there to improve the stability and fix a number of installation problems. As we approach the final stages of this release we would like to ask you to continue reporting your feedback via the forums and provide your thoughts via the surveys on the Beta Labs page we really appreciate these!A number of you have been asking us to explain the new positioning in Ovi Maps especially now that we have replaced the GPS indicator bar from the bottom right hand corner of the screen.Basically, here is how it works…..The GPS position is indicated with a red dot and the map zooms in to a certain zoom level to provide a good overview.There is no visual difference between GPS positioning (picture below) and the WiFi positioning at the moment but we are looking to improve this in future releases.For cell-ID positioning we show a halo (the red circle around the dot as shown below). When you have a position fix and you dont interact with the map, we pan the map to your position fix and zoom in or out to display the whole halo.If you zoom in, the halo will get more transparent until it’s not visible anymore to avoid a full screen overlay of the map. When you zoom out, the halo gets less transparent to show you that the position is not accurate.When there is no position fix or the position gets lost, there is a grey dot on the last known position (if there is one) and the back-to-my-position (top left hand corner) button is blinking. Also, you can see on the top information bar that it will display “Searching for position” – as shown in the example below.I hope this has provided a better understanding to the new positioning and well be back soon to discuss some of our new ideas with you to make this even better.”

“Well, this is rather interesting to see. The above shots were recently posted over at BBLeaks. Now, while the pics are mentioned to be of OS 6.0 they are clearly just images of what might be. Nothing appears to be running on a device here. Oddly enough, they look all too familiar to the concierge app that was shown off at DevCon and again in a recent RIM held webinar. So, while we can’t say for certain this is what it’s going to look like or definitively confirm the accuracy (nor does BBLeaks), what do you think if this was indeed the case? Toshiba TG01 gets the WinMo 6.5 upgrade

It was about time that Toshiba TG01 got the long awaited upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5. TG01 users can download it straight away and enjoy the goodies it brings. The good news comes about 6 months later than expected, but better late than never, right?
The refreshed user interface alone is worth paying a visit to Toshiba’s support website where you can find the free WinMo 6.5 update waiting for you.
There aren’t too many new features that version 6.5 of the Microsoft OS puts on the table compared to Windows Mobile 6.1. Still, Toshiba TG01 users will also get access to the Microsoft Marketplace and the My Phone service. On top of that you will also be able to revamp your homescreen.
